Update New Beginnings: Zygote Press Finds Its Permanent Home After two decades of creative endeavors and a recent struggle for space, Zygote Press has officially moved into its newly acquired home on Perkins Avenue in Cleveland. This vibrant nonprofit community printmaking studio celebrated its launch with an open house event dubbed “Proof of Concept” on April 10, 2026. The event marked not just a new physical space, but a new chapter for the organization that has significantly nurtured the local art community since its inception in 1996. Why Zygote Press Matters Zygote Press has become a cornerstone for artists in Cleveland, especially those from underserved communities. Its mission focuses on providing resources and educating artists in printmaking, making art accessible and encouraging creativity among diverse groups. The open house unveiled its spacious 7,500 square foot studio, which dwarfs the previous location, allowing for more collaborative projects and increased opportunity for artistic experimentation.
