In a recent meeting held on November 25, the Sharon Township Board of Trustees made significant strides in enhancing community safety by approving the hiring of two new firefighters. Jayce Dippel has been appointed as a Firefighter II Paramedic, complementing his existing role with the Barberton Fire Department. The deadline for interested residents to submit letters of interest to serve on the Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals has been extended to December 15, inviting further community participation in local governance.

Trustees also approved critical funding for safety infrastructure, including a $31,860 payment for Town Hall renovations, an investment into two leased Flock cameras for enhanced surveillance facilitated by the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, and a budget allocation of $2,375 for tornado siren services from Federal Field Services. Such investments demonstrate a proactive approach to safety and emergency preparedness in the township.
